Phase 2078
Phase 2078 is a three-part digital artwork that explores how the search for understanding can destabilize identity. Instead of portraying existence as smooth, vivid, or beautiful, it presents it as rough, noisy, and pale. The work begins with a single nail piercing the brain, expands into a series of nails, and eventually ends with their removal. The artwork uses the aesthetics of early software and video games, reflecting a time when the digital world still felt unfamiliar and people were just beginning to explore its possibilities.
The EDSAC Simulator (1949) is a software recreation of the original EDSAC computer. The interface preserves all the controls and displays of the original machine, while the system features a collection of original programs, subroutines, and debugging tools.
HP 8752A Vector Network Analyzer (1990). An electronic instrument used to analyze how radio frequency (RF) signals behave within electrical networks such as antennas, filters, cables, and amplifiers.
Castle Adventure (1984) is a text-and-ASCII–based adventure video game for early IBM-compatible PCs. Players explore a sprawling castle filled with monsters, puzzles, and hidden treasures.
The Dark Tower (1983) for the Vectrex gaming system. The goal was to unlock the door of the Dark Tower by solving the Riddle of the Keys. To solve the riddle, you must first find the four different keys and then find and enter the Dark Tower.
MS-DOS 6.22 (1994). A command-line operating system developed by Microsoft, used to manage files, run software, and control hardware on early personal computers before graphical user interfaces became standard.
